Reminiscence

12.50am and I’m in bed stuffing my face with candies (it’s one of those days ok don’t judge), my hands were sticky so I had to go to the wash room. I didn’t want to leave my door open - the air conditioner was nice and cold (sighs), but as you already know.....my hands were sticky, so I somehow did my ninja stunts (maybe not so ninja) and managed to close my door. As I was washing my hands something told me that my door was locked from the inside while i was struggling to shut it. True enough when I got to my room..... IT WAS LOCKED.

Ah shit, what do I do now?? Gotta wake everyone up for the keys, ugh, long story short - the keys for my room was IN MY ROOM (not the smartest thing to do I know...deep sighs).

Between lectures that keys should not be IN THE ROOM and me panicking because like I want my room (?), I suddenly remembered my days back in Mansion (my student residence back in Uni). We used to get locked out of our rooms really often back then, and we were so frustrated! Then one of our housemates taught us the card trick, and we never looked back!

It was almost magic! But saved us SO MANY TIMES!

So I immediately asked for an unused card/ cardboard, and soon enough found one. Everyone at home was looking at me with reasonable suspicion. Like what is she up to? But as always the trick worked! And everyone was blown away (hehe  I meannnnn).

So I managed to unlock my door and yes i took the keys out! But it got me thinking about those days where I learnt so much. All these little life skills, that I don’t always remember but it strikes my mind at the right time. We’ve experienced so much there. Just learning to deal with life, and truly embracing our independence. It really is the little-est things at the end of the day.

Crazy to think how fast that phase ended and now it’s time for the mundane part of adulthood. But that’s life I guess, I carry with me some very valuable lessons forever!
